My name is Monica Ann Sarmiento. I'm a graphic design and media arts student at New Jersey City University. I'm also the Editor-in-Chief at The Gothic Times, the university's newspaper.
I love movies, television, and all things pop culture which you might be able to tell from my work! A lot of my inspiration comes from film, so you'll usually find me watching a movie in my spare time! I've been working with computer graphics for 6 years now, after getting a hold of Photoshop early in high school and teaching myself (almost) everything I know. Now, half way through university, I am very well acquainted with the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite and find myself working primarily in Illustrator and Photoshop. Video is another medium that interests me a lot these days. I love editing and have done a lot of video projects involving archival footage (Which you can find here!) I have a minor in media arts and have been using this to establish a better understanding of the role of art and design in film and television. My ultimate dream is to combine it all and work as a designer in the film industry. This site a lot of my design and art work as well as my blog that I'll be updating with news about my current projects and events. So, feel free to poke around and reach me on some of my socials listed here! See ya around! |
